In order to earn a Metropolitan School of the Arts high school diploma, students will be required to earn the following credits (31 total units)
English (4 units)
Social Studies (4 units - must have 1 unit World History; 2 units US History; .5 unit Government; .5 elective)
Math (4 units - must have 1 unit Algebra; 1 unit Geometry)
Science (3 units)
Fine Arts (7 units) - can be obtained through online classes or participation credit
Foreign Language (2 units)
Personal Finance (0.5 unit)
Health/PE (1.5 each)
Electives (4 units)
Jr./Sr. Recital or Juried Event (0.5 unit = 0.25 for each year)
Senior Internship/Capstone Project (0.5 unit)
- a unit is the equivalent of a year-long course; 1/2 unit is the equivalent of a semester-long class
