Kansas City Metropolitan School of the Arts operates under the non-profit corporation School of the Arts of Kansas City, Inc. and it is its governing body of the school. The corporation has a board of directors and the principal of the school serves as the executive director of the corporation much like a superintendent of a school district.
School of the Arts of Kansas City, Inc is a recognized 501(c)3 organization under the Internal Revenue Service. Donations are made to support the Kansas City Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA). As a not-for-profit independent school, MSA receives no state or federal funding. Therefore, our program operates with tuition and donations. Some of our donations are earmarked for tuition assistance for students who demonstrate talent and cannot afford tuition payments or other school expenses.
Community and Corporate participation is essential...In order to provide a quality arts-based education, it will take generous contributions from the community, local corporations and foundations to allow us the ability to fulfill our mission and vision.
